Squirrels
In this area we have two species of squirrels that we commonly find living in homes. They are the red squirrel and the eastern grey squirrel. Both are well adapted to life in cities and are at home nesting in attics and porch roofs. The squirrel is a rodent built for chewing and has no difficulty gnawing into our homes.
Procedure
All squirrel removal procedures begin with a free inspection of the building exterior. All entry holes and potential entry areas are identified. These areas are secured with heavy screen. At the entry hole we install a squirrel specific one-way door which allows any squirrel inside to leave the building. The oneway door works in a way that makes it impossible for the squirrel to go back in. This procedure becomes more complex during baby season when it becomes necessary to locate the baby squirrels and remove them by hand. Once the baby squirrels are removed they are placed in a weatherproof box close to the entry hole so they can be reunited with mom. In many cases mother squirrels relocate their babies while we are on site.
